Joaquim Casell

JOACHIM CASELL was born in Gerona, Spain, August 1, 1927, He had studies of art in Paris and then He moved to New York where he started his career as art restorer

He is one of the renowned living artist of the South of the United States.
with the time he turned to the German post-wars art styles.
He became master of Oil Pastels in the Expressionism and Realism style.
Joaquim was the founder of Casell Gallery and He painted most of his work in New Orleans.
As he said, “There is more than four thousand of my painting for over the world”
The Casell´s works have brilliant colors and his unique point of view of the world are full of passion.
Mr. Casell is listed in Who’s Who in American Art, also in Barron’s Who’s Who in Interior Design, International Edition. In the 70´s, he get the title of “The Monet of America”.

Casell received several distinctions for his artistic contribution to our community.  

1987 Won 1st Place in Ocean Springs Art Association, Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
1988 Wn Merit Award in Ocean Springs Art Association, Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
1989 Won 1st Place Biloxi Art Association Biloxi, Mississippi.
1990 Won Exceptional Merit Award, Ocean Springs Art Association, Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
1994 Won Blue Ribbon, Art Collection Channel 12, New Orleans, Louisiana.
2001 Won Blue Ribbon, Art Collection Channel 12, New Orleans, Louisiana.
